Frequently Asked Questions
I do not have funds to pay a lawyer privately. Do you accept clients on legal aid or a payment plan?
Yes, we understand that not everyone can afford to pay a lawyer privately. In this changing economy, we will work with you to accommodate your financial situation. Call us to discuss a payment plan at 778.899.3060.

If you are eligible to receive financial assistance, we are available to represent you on your charges through Legal Aid BC. For more information on how to apply for legal aid, please click here.
What should I do after retaining your firm?
Please provide any documents you have in relation to your case (any bail papers, crown disclosure materials i.e. police reports/witness statements).
Once we have had a chance to review the file, we will meet to discuss the specific strategy for your file.

If you do not have the crown disclosure, our office will make the request through the appropriate Crown office on your behalf.
Am I required to show up for my court appearances?
Once we are retained, we will make most of your court appearances on your behalf as long as you maintain regular contact with us to discuss your case. You can expect that your personal attendance is required for hearings such as a sentencing, preliminary inquiry, trial, etc.
If you are not sure about a specific date, please contact Julia to confirm whether your attendance is required.
How can we meet during Covid-19?
We offer virtual meetings in order to limit in-person contact during your case. If it is necessary to meet in person, we take every precaution and follow BC’s public health guidelines (e.g. masks, regular sanitization of hands and surfaces, and 6 ft distancing) in order to protect your health and safety.
